The Center for 教学 and 学习 believes that teachers should always be acknowledged for and in their teaching endeavors.

丹尼尔一. Augsburger Excellence in 教学 Award

This award recognizes faculty whose teaching reflects the high standards of excellence modeled by 丹尼尔一. Augsburger in his 60 years of teaching at Andrews University. Augsburger’s leadership, academic rigor, breadth of knowledge, teacher-scholar role, along with care and concern for students, exemplify the best of faculty endeavors. 教师 from each school nominates and chooses their individual candidates.

Siegfried H. Horn Excellence in 研究 and Creative Scholarship Award

This award was established in 2011 to honor Siegfried Horn’s legacy of scholarship and contribution to the field of biblical archaeology at Andrews University, and his impact upon the world church and the wider community of scholars. It recognizes the lifetime scholarship achievement of Andrews University faculty members in four separate categories. Award recipients, who must be associate or full professors and full-time employees for a minimum of five years, are selected by the membership of the Scholarly 研究 Council.

COILL FELLOWS

 COILL Fellows program is designed to support AU faculty in developing and implementing Collaborative Online International and Local 学习 courses. This initiative is overseen by the Department of Digital 学习 and Instructional Technology, with assistance from the Off Campus 项目 Office. 参观 COILL Fellows page for more information.

Innovation in 教学 and 学习 Grant

The primary goals of ITL grants are: 1) to enhance the quality, while also expanding the range and accessibility of learning experiences offered; 2) to provide faculty with resources to develop innovative and improved techniques in student learning.
Successful applicants will be awarded up to $1000. Funds may be used for the acquisition of teaching tools (including software), payment for student assistants, field trip expenses, technology tools (i.e. swivel, microphone, webcam) and training fees. Restrictions on how funds may be allocated apply.
▪ Rationale for including each item to be funded must be indicated in the assessment plan.
▪ 教师 salaries or computers will not be funded.
▪ Conference travel may be funded.
All faculty are eligible to apply for an ITL grant, including full, part-time, and adjunct faculty. Applicants must be the faculty of record or be scheduled to teach the course for which the grant is requested. Applications are due on March 15. Awards are announced by April 30. Funds are distributed by May 15.
